Once a small coastal town surrounded by farmland joined with the beach area formed the city of Pompano Beach. The city covers an area of 22.65 square miles and is home to 85,932 annual residents.. During the season (September - March), the population swells to approximately 125,000, as part-time residents come to Pompano Beach for "fun in the sun."
